Pole dance is an acrobatic sport that combines flexibility, strength and coordination. To start poledancing you do not need previous experience, we will build up basic strength, flexibility and body awareness together. If you want to work more in a particular area, we have additional flexibility and strength classes. The fun thing about pole dance is that you are actually training very hard, but time flies by because you are working on nailing that trick or combo. You start to aim for sport related goals, rather than physical appearance and feel great about yourself with the skills you've mastered and the muscles you've gained! By training in group we will struggle, laugh and cheer together in a relaxed and repectful environment
Aerial Hoop
It's a circusdiscipline for everyone with 360° of fun, most comparable with trapeze, but then in a round shaped hoop hanging in the air. Just like all kinds of aerial exercise it is a mixture of strength, flexibility and technique. In the classes we will be working on getting your really strong, beautiful figures, flows and transitions. To start you don't need any previous experience.
Stretch
This training is accesible to everyone no matter what your current flexibility level may be. The classes will be adapted to your level so you can train safely and progress in your own time. We will be focussing on mobility work first, strengthening the muscles in our full range of motion. This way we will focus on engaging the right muscles to support our flexibility. The class will be intense, it is active training to improve your frontfolding, backbending, front splits and box splits. We aim for a healthy spine, mobile and strong joints and flexible muscles. Modifications will be made when injured.
Strength training
For acrobatic sports and everyday movement we need strong supporting muscles to prevent us from injury, to feel good in our body, to move freely. In this personal training based group class, there will be a big focus on correct allignment and differentiation, we will do the work you need to do besides hanging upside down to keep your body healthy. We will try to balance out our upper and lower body muscles, to engage our core properly and learn to overcome compensations in the body. You can expect a mixture of calisthenics and functional training, to get strong and injury free in your pullups, leg raises, presses, handstand, aerial arts or just get really strong .
Choreo
We will be working on your dance by levelling your attitude, your rythm and just have a lot of fun trying! It is an all level accesible class on the pole, were you will learn to improve your coordination. We will be working 3 to 4 weeks on a choreo so there is a lot of time to repeat classes.
Handstand
We offer handstand classes for beginners with the following prequisites: you are able to swing or walk up to the wall and able to stand on your hands for 20 seconds without collapsing. If you miss basic armstrength to stand against the wall, we suggest to join our strength classes first. Being upside down is very intensive on the schoulders, so we will be training a lot of straight arm strength drills, core, coordination and alignment. This class is for beginners who want to learn a freestand handstand or for freestanders who are able to hold their handstand only shortly and want to improve.
Open Training
Our weekly hangout where you and your fellow students can come and train everything you've learned in class. The space and everything in it is available for you to train with. Feel free to come handstand, strength training, hoop, pole or stretch. This gives you an extra training day in the week so you can improve your skills. We work with a volunteer system, one student will be held responsible for opening, closing and safety.
